It's still leaving a bad taste in Saul's mouth. What the hell is up with that?]
I think you're underestimating the Transports. I made the same mistake when I showed up. You work with idiots all the time and you start to assume everyone's like that, right? But that's not the case here. We've got military types, magic users, psychics... bribery and manipulation are all well and good and I'm a defense attorney, so that's pretty much my forte — but there's a good chance one wrong move would end in disaster.
And what of the ones who are none of those things? Don't mistake me- I hardly attribute certain skillsets and power to be a person's only overall worth. Some can get by with what they have and don't mind the insurmountable odds when it comes time for heroism, but the rest... The ones who feel they have nothing to contribute or choose not to contribute... Well, you can hardly tell me they don't pose a certain problem to the whole thing.
What I'm proposing is a means to encourage the ones who wouldn't choose to fight on their own terms. Give them a reason to fight- something they can reach out and touch at the end of a hard battle aside from some vague hope that at the end, their world won't be destroyed.
I think so. What you just said, yeah, music to my ears. [A pause. It's too bad Gold can't see Saul smiling, but maybe he can hear it.]
However, if I were you, I'd maybe spend a little more time assessing the situation. It sounds great in theory, but there are a lot of people and creatures here, Mr. Gold, from all over the damn place. It might not be as easy as you imagine.
[Saul, you're setting yourself up for a lifetime of misery.
Though when Gold speaks, you can definitely hear the smile in his tone.]
Well, that's fair. Belle didn't give me your name, thinking I'd expect to swan in and change everything overnight, after all. I do, however, think I can provide some perspective.
Not overnight, no, of course not. So what's the time frame, then? A month from now? Two? Give yourself time to settle in, make some friends, earn trust...?
[on the plus side, saul, this attitude is probably going to keep you from a world of hurt someday. just not a world of "gold routinely getting your goat."]

But.

What, exactly, are you proposing?
