Why were you taking pictures with a thing that could have mauled you?

I wasn't taking a picture WITH it. I was trying to take photographic proof of its existence to research later. I just kind of snuck in, I suppose.

Exactly how does one sneak into their own photo, pray tell?

I turned it around to use the forward-facing camera, so I could look at the screen and make sure I was actually taking the photo properly. But I needed to be quick, and I accidentally ruined it.

They might be. It's hard to make a judgment like that after only seeing one. I'm thinking of making an attempt to investigate further.
