guess what i get to do! go on, i bet you'll never guess!!!!
[Don't worry, Saul, she's not really going to make you guess]
i get to tell a teenage boy that his dad is here! which is great, right? because he's been desperately hoping his dad would turn up in this shithole so he wouldn't be so alone and feel so shitty about being stuck here! and now his dad is here! yay!
BUT GUESS WHAT ELSE
it's his dad from an alternate universe who DOESN'T KNOW WHO HIS SON IS
so i get to go tell a boy that his dad is here but he won't know him. and then i have to handle the tantrum/tears that result!!!
hey can you tell Jesse to stop being a dick next time you see him? his name's still on the lists but my texts and calls keep getting bounced. I didn't do anything I told people he WASN'T gonna hurt anyone.
[Kanaya has invaded the McGill-Brown residence with three white boxes, one large and two small. Saul's is of the sturdiest material, corrugated cardboard instead of paperboard: Yes, a ceramic world's greatest lawyer mug.]
I went out on a limb here and assumed you have a caffeine habit.
[At some point between the beginning of the 24th and the end of the 25th, Christopher delivers (handed off in person or left at a doorstep) a Christmas gift: a bunch of tiny umbrellas, the kind you put in mixed drinks. It is given with all the best Christmas wishes from a friend.]
Good morning and merry Christmas! I bet you didn't think aliens knew about that, did you? Anemoneway, I have something for you, whenever you have time for me to come by.
[When she found out there wouldn't arrivals on the first, she'd been disappointed, and not only because it would require a little exrta wrangling.
She'd been hoping for the distraction, something to keep her mind of her own arrival, twelve months ago, but now there's nothing, and she'd already made sure she had the day off work. She could have found something to do with herself, but it wouldn't be distraction enough.
So she stays at home, and she tries to follow her regular routine: wake up, shower, eat breakfast, clean her teeth, do her hair, then head out to hunt or trade or just gather as much intel as she can on the current situation. Somewhere after breakfast and before she manages to actually get out the door, she decides to give up and crawl back into bed. She doesn't make a fuss about it, just slips into the bedroom, curls up under the covers, and presses her face into the pillows.
It's been a year since she's seen her mom, since she's seen Cass or Tim or Gotham. Since she's seen her Babs, even if she loves the one here. She hates Exsilium, even if she loves the people she's met, even if she isn't ready to go home and forget, but none of that makes the reminder easier.
Should you desire the official report I can provide it, but I thought I would provide you the short form of the results of my investigation.
There is no evidence to indicate anyone was involved in Jesse Pinkman's death or that it was not suicide. No one remembers any points of entry being unlocked or anything that would indicate someone else was in the room. It does not help that I was not given access to the scene immediately, but from the eyewitness account I have there would not have been anything to find regardless. Should he return I will interview him to determine what I can. In the meantime, his death is being ruled a suicide.
As a further note: If you ever do something like this again, lack of a place to hold you and lack of a legal system will not stop me arresting you and anyone else involved for obstruction of justice and prosecuting you to the fullest extent of my capability.
I am very new to Christmas, presents I know, hopefully. I hope you like them and have a wonderful day. Thank you so much for working very hard for everyone here. It can't be easy sometimes, or maybe most times, but you're a really great person for trying.
